Kapala Training
Level I:
|
|
This Three Level Training offers an in-depth exploration of the Chöd teachings of 11th century Tibetan yogini Machig Lapdrön, the related Mahayana teachings of Prajna Paramita, as well as the practice of Feeding the Demons developed by Tsultrim Allione. The Training is designed both for professionals who can apply these practices to their healing work and for individuals wishing to work deeply with their own 'demons' through contemplative practice. Chöd is widely used as a spiritual path with secondary applications to heal illnesses, stop epidemics, and address obstacles, spiritual emergencies and critical eruptions. Drawing on Mahayana teachings of the Prajna Paramita, Machig's teachings also include insight on the nature of mind. These later developed into Maha Mudra and into some lineages of Dzog Chen. Level I will be an introduction to the nature of demons as taught
by Machig and the Tibetan and Indianroots of her teachings. We will also
explore the 'Feeding the Demons' process based on the principles expressed
in Chöd, and using painting, clay work and other modalities, will
discover the nature of our personal, family and collective demons. Compassionate
nurturing rather than battling outer and inner challenges develops the
potential for deep healing and the experience of non-dual awareness. Course Price: $450 - $600 Suggested Dana: $120 - $240 Click here for a printable Registration

Tsultrim Allione, M.A. is one of the first American women ordained as a Tibetan nun in 1970 by the 16th Karmapa. She is author of Women of Wisdom, a groundbreaking book on the lives of great female Tibetan Buddhist practitioners, as well as articles and various audio programs on the sacred feminine and other Buddhist topics. After four years as a nun, Tsultrim returned her monastic vows, married, and had three children. She has continued to practice, study and teach for the last thirty years, earning a degree in Buddhist Studies/Women's Studies from Antioch University. Inspired by the vision of a Western retreat center while living in the Himalayas and the need to create a place for the reemergence of the sacred feminine, Tsultrim founded Tara Mandala in 1993 where she is now the resident teacher. She is author of Sounds True audio programs 'Cutting Through Fear' and 'The Mandala of the Enlightened Feminine' and is currently writing a book with the working title 'Feeding Your Demons: Wisdom for Challenging Times' to be published by Time Warner, Little Brown in 2007. |
