| TaraNet: First Tara Temple Practice, Summer Staff 2009 Opportunity December 5, 2008 |
Sunday, December 21st: First Practice in the Tara Temple!!! We'll be celebrating the Winter Solstice on the third floor (Dharmakaya Level) of the Tara Temple with a Sunrise Sang at 6:30 am followed by 10:00 am Green Tara Feast Offering (Tsog). At 2:00 pm, there will be a Prajna Paramita Teaching and Practice Transmission. Please bring an offering of finger food or a beverage for the Tsog. Call (970) 731-3711 or email the office to let us know you're coming, get directions, and get the gate code. Last winter we sat on the ground in the snow at the temple site and offered fragrant smoke. We envisioned the temple before us and now it is here.
Tara Mandala Now Accepting Applications for 2009 Summer Staff Volunteers! Most importantly, we're putting together a delightful crew of volunteers and cooks to spend the summer here, living close to the land, bringing the gift of the Dharma to the many retreatants that come here. We're looking for enthusiastic and responsible volunteers who are interested in deep meditation practice, community living, and contemplative service. Working at Tara Mandala provides an opportunity to support long and short term retreats in the Tibetan Buddhist and other wisdom traditions, live in a beautiful, wild and remote area, and learn about the art of council and sustainable community life. It is a joyful and meaningful way to spend the summer. If you are interested in applying, please fill out the application - electronic word document or PDF - and send it by email or snail mail to: Tara Mandala For more information, e-mail Devon at devon@taramandala.org. Please indicate if you are interested in receiving hard copies of the application, or summer staff flyers for posting in your communities! |
