Lama Wangdu
Rinchen Trengwa
with Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche

October 26-30, 2009

Tara Mandala Retreat Center
Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Rinchen Trengwa, or "Tsogle" as it is affectionately called, is probably the most direct practice lineage from Machig, descending through the Kagyu lineage from the Karmapas. This is an extensive Chöd practice. Lama Wangdu Rinpoche is direct lineage holder from Dingri Langkhor the Tibetan residence of Phadampa Sangye. He did three-year retreat there in Machig's cave in Dingri. Lama Tsering Wangdu will be making an auspicious surprise visit to Tara Mandala to teach this practice and bless the temple. Don't miss this amazing retreat with one of the Lamas who originally recognized Lama Tsultrim as an emanation of Machig Labdron.  Read his biography: Hundred Thousand Rays of Sun, www.lamawangdu.org.

Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche began studying with his guru, Napdra Rinpoche, at age 8. Rinpoche has received teachings and transmissions from many extraordinary lamas, including His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, His Eminence Surkhang Rinpoche, His Eminence Urgyen Tulku, and His Eminence Chatral Rinpoche. Rinpoche has received the complete teachings and practices of Padampa Sangye, a great Indian mahasiddha who is credited with bringing Chöd practice to Tibet. A master of Chöd, Rinpoche was asked by His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama to continue the precious teachings of Padampa Sangye by establishing a monastery in Kathmandu. Rinpoche now presides over the monastery, Pal Gyi Dingri Langkor Jangsem Kunga Ling, and teaches around the world.

About Dana:
This retreat is dana (pronounced 'donna') based. Dana is a Pali word which means generosity. Traditionally, Buddhist teachings are given freely, so Tara Mandala is only requiring a registration fee that covers food, facilities, staff and overhead costs. Tsultrim is donating her time in service of the Dharma and only receives what is offered through dana. We recommend a dana amount of $100 - $50 for this retreat, but any amount that feels right to you is appropriate to show your appreciation for the teachings and the teacher. There will be an opportunity to make the dana contribution (in the form of cash or check) at the end of the retreat.

Sliding scale fees allow participants to pay according to individual means. Your payment above the low end directly benefits our scholarship fund.

Sustaining Sangha discounts range from 10%-20% based on your membership level and are calculated at registration.
