  Private Retreat Cabins

View inside of Luminous PeakWe do not currently have any cabins available for rent. Retreat cabins are isolated and perfect for solitary use. They feature vast views and are remotely located for ultimate privacy.

As an example, one of our cabins, Luminous Peak is nestled into a slope facing Ekajati peak, and offers expansive views to the west, south and east. The 11' x 11' cabin is made of aspen wood and covered with deep red, terra cotta stucco, which integrates with the surrounding environment. The interior is unstained wood with large windows that provide incredible sky panoramas ideal for Dzogchen practice. There is a redwood deck all the way around the cabin, which provides space to do yoga in the morning sun.

"Retreat, or returning back to a place or origin, is an age-old practice in many cultures. It signals a return to simplicity. For many Buddhist practitioners it is a necessary and very desirable opportunity to experience a step into a deeper level of contemplation and practice. Our retreat cabin provides a rare opportunity to be complete secluded and alone. Here, you are free to experience your innermost being."

All our cabins are well suited for year-round practice, as they are completely insulated and have a small wood-burning stove for which we provide wood. There is no electricity or running water, but we'll provide drinking water. There is a single bed, small kitchen, pots, pans, flatware, glasses, dishes and a gas burner for cooking. Bathing water is collected from the roof in a large insulated water tank anView of the cabinView of the cabind a pump and faucet are located on the deck. There is adequate space for storage on shelves and under the bed. Some of our cabins have an outhouse and all have a solar-heated shower bag. No smoking, drugs or intoxicants are allowed at the cabin.
